Scripts that do cause problems are ones that run constantly in a loop, which are extremely few and far between, and sloppy to use unless completely unavoidable. The base game has tens of thousands of scripts, and they are not a problem. "large script mods" are not really a thing. The Immersive Armor scripts are especially not bad, because they fire once and once only after configuring the mod.

Now because of one thread that got out of hand, tons of people have the wrong impression and are afraid to use an amazing mod.Ī mod that is no longer being updated =/= "outdated". It absolutely sucks to see, because Immersive Armors is a wonderful mod that took Hothtrooper and Eckss thousands of hours to create. The fact that anybody thinks IA is outdated or dangerous now is basically proof positive at how something can get out of control when somebody gives something an unearned reputation. Which is fine! But it is NOT an outdated mod, it is NOT technically problematic, and it is NOT going to hurt your game if you use it. The only reason you should avoid the mod is if you genuinely just don't like the armors that it has available.

Even if you install all of the available armors individually, because Hothtrooper cleaned a ton of them up and added additional functionality (gender/race support, fixed clipping, etc.) There is no Immersive Armors "equivalent" or "replacement". There is no other mod that matches it in functionality, especially with the ability to toggle each individual piece of armor off and on (an invaluable feature, as there are bound to be at least some armors that a given user will not like). If you like Immersive Armors, you should continue to use it. The performance impact of mashup armors is virtually non-existent, and that is why Immersive Armors has literally hundreds of thousands of users that do not report any performance hit. No tangible or concrete performance hit or major problems have ever been reported. The very worst thing that Immersive Armors will do is have some floating blood on some armors. TLDR: A single suit of 4k armor will hit your performance significantly harder than any set of mashup armor. The author of IA has a post about it here: This entire misconception was started by one thread that is loaded with misinformation and exaggeration about IA, making it sound like it's going to ruin your game. Immersive Armors is NOT BAD and it is not outdated.
